Lucy - a miracle unfolding: We have a heartwarming story to share with you – the tale of Lucy, a kitten from a feral colony who has captured our hearts and overcome incredible odds. Lucy was rescued from a feral colony on late October, and her journey has been nothing short of a miracle. During her spay surgery, her little heart struggled, and for a few terrifying seconds, it even stopped. Thanks to the swift action of the amazing vet, Lucy came back to us, but not without challenges. The lack of oxygen during those critical moments left Lucy unable to see, turning her world upside down. An LTAR Foster stepped in to support Lucy in her recovery from the spay surgery that day. Lucy struggled to come out from the surgery and despite the odds stacked against her, Lucy's indomitable spirit shone through. She initially lost the will to live, but with tender loving care, forced feeding, and a lot of coaxing, she found the strength to keep going. Not only did this foster save Lucy from a difficult situation, but she also opened her heart and home to foster this precious kitten. Lucy received the care, comfort, and love she needs during this crucial time in her recovery. This kindness and generosity have made a world of difference in Lucy's life. Since Lucy's surgery, the progress she's made is nothing short of remarkable. While the vet gives her a 50/50 chance of regaining her eyesight, Lucy doesn't let that dampen her spirits. Her endless "hums" and sweet purrs echo the resilience of her small heart that grew three sizes that day, much like the Grinch's heartwarming transformation. We believe in miracles, and Lucy is living proof that love, care, and support can work wonders. Lucy's story was celebrated at this year's Pause 4 Paws Gala. Not only was Lucy's foster recognized for her efforts but Lucy herself was present and championed at the event.
